That Won’t Break The Bank!

Top 10 Last Minute Gift Ideas Thumb

Are you after a last-minute tech gift for your friends and family that won’t break the bank? You’re in the right place! In this article, I will share my top 10 recommendations, based on products I’ve personally used and can recommend.

In this article, I will be concentrating on last-minute gifts with a budget of under £100, which is around $122.57 in the US. Just a bit of a side note, I will be talking about prices in this article, but they may change at any time without notice. The prices are from the time I wrote this article.

So in no particular order, here are the top 10 last-minute Christmas gifts for Christmas in 2022…

1. Amazon Echo

The Amazon Echo is a great gift to give on any occasion, mainly because you can never have enough of them around the house, but also because you can always find some great deals. At the time of writing this article, the 5th Gen Echo Dot is available for just £26.99 and the 3rd Gen Echo Dot is available for only £16.99!

If you are looking for a more premium device, the Amazon Echo Show 5, has a screen which you can interact with. I treat this model a little bit like one of those old-fashioned clock radios and I keep it on my bedside table. The Amazon Echo Show 8 is a much larger version of the Echo 5 and in my opinion, has a much better speaker too. This is a device I keep in the living room and mainly use as a photo frame and music device.

The beauty of buying these types of devices is that it doesn’t really matter if the person you’re buying the device for already has one as they can expand their smart homes and create a multi-room sound system, which is what I currently do with the help of Amazon Echo.

2. JBL Go 3 Mini Bluetooth Speaker

I know I’ve said it before, but I’m a huge fan of products from JBL and Harman, I use many of their products such as the JBL Quantum Duo on a daily basis.

The JBL Go 3 is a brilliant little speaker that can comfortably fill the entire room. The speaker is perfect for taking with you on the go whether you’re taking it on holiday with you or whether you are just using it in the garden. It has a robust design that not only is durable but IP67 waterproof and dustproof making it an ideal accessory to use outdoors.

I primarily use the speaker for travel and when out in the great outdoors and I think it’s absolutely perfect for that due to its small design. Speaking about the small design, don’t let it fool you because the speaker is loud and had a reasonable amount of bass.

3. Google Pixel Buds A

Now for a slightly more pricey item, but one I still think is worth buying, the Google Pixel Buds A. I’ve tested many wireless earbuds this year at various price ranges and the Pixel Buds A remains my fourth favourite set of earbuds. You’re probably thinking why am I not including my favourite earbuds which happen to be the Google Pixel Buds Pro, well I wouldn’t exactly call them budget.

I decided to include the Pixel Buds A because they offer great value for money and they sound great! The Pixel Buds A were actually my daily drivers for several months before I decided to upgrade to the Pixel Buds Pro, which are even better!

They feature a decent battery life as well as Google Assistant which can read out your notifications, you can even reply to them using your voice. This is a feature I find extremely useful when walking as I don’t have to reach out to my pocket to get the phone out to reply, I can just use the earbuds.

4. Xiaomi Mi Band 7

The Xiaomi Mi Band 7 is an excellent fitness tracker I just can’t recommend it enough. At the time of writing this article, the Mi Band 7 costs £44.50 on Amazon, which is a great price considering all the features you get with it.

To begin with, you’re treated with that beautiful AMOLED display, which not only offers vibrant colours but also looks great even outdoors. The band features 120 sports modes, great battery life as well as sleep tracking. There are two apps available for this watch and you have the ability to pick which one you use. I initially started with the Zepp Life app which was the only app available at the time, I later moved on to the Mi Fitness app, which works better in my opinion.

Overall the band performs really well and I can’t fault it. I’ve actually given it to my mum, who is also really enjoying it!

5. FutureGo Pro Smartwatch

Staying with wearables, the FutureGo Pro is a beautiful-looking smartwatch by HiFuture. While it is a very basic smartwatch HiFuture appears to have prioritised the look and feel of the watch which by the way, looks absolutely stunning.

The watch is perfect to use for formal occasions as well as everyday use. It has a great battery life and many watch faces to choose from. I liked the circuit one which is what is presented in the video thumbnail above.

The watch is available in either Silver or Black and whilst I haven’t seen the black version, I just know it will look great because of how good the silver version looks!

6. EColor Smart Gradient Egg Lamp

This lamp by Ecolor is a bit of a novelty but will make an excellent gift, particularly for children. It’s basically a rechargeable colour-changing lamp that not only feels great in your hands but also looks great!

The lamp has a wide range of scenes to choose from and can be controlled via an app where you can customise the effects. Whilst it doesn’t have a speaker built-in, it can react to music played by other speakers creating a party atmosphere.

It’s perfect for use as a nightlight or to have on your gaming setup.

7. Tronsmart T7 360° Surround Sound Speaker

The Tronsmart T7 is an excellent Bluetooth speaker with 360° surround sound and astonishing sound quality! This speaker not only looks great but is very functional with the volume control at the top which also features a colourful ring with up to 7 colours.

The speaker feels strong and sturdy and is rated as IPX7 water-resistant. I mostly tend to use the speaker inside where it fills the house nicely, as the speaker is pretty loud. The speaker is also great for using outdoors and annoying your neighbours.

8. Keysmart Max

The Keysmart Max is an item I mention all the time in my blog posts and YouTube videos and that’s because it was actually a very good purchase. To simply put it, it’s a key holder with a Tile tracker and torch built-in.

The Tile tracker enables you to find your keys using the Tile app and a Bluetooth connection. It also enables you to find your phone by simply double tapping the button on the key holder. The best part is that it’s also rechargeable and the battery lasts a while, but at least you don’t have to replace the battery as you do with standard tile trackers.

You can even buy accessories to attach to the tracker! At present, I have the included multi-tool as well as a box opener as I find it useful in my every day carry.

9. SoundPeats Free2Classic Earbuds

If you are looking for budget earbuds, you’re in the right place! The SoundPeats Free2Classic are my favourite budget earbuds. At the time of writing this article, the SoundPeats Free2Classic will set you back £22.49, which is a bargain considering what you are getting for the price.

To begin with, the earbuds come in this beautiful leather-looking case which not only looks stylish but also is very robust. But where these really shine is the sound quality, considering the price tag, they sound great and because of their design they naturally block a small amount of noise out.

10. iBlockCube Extension Lead

The iBlockCube mains extension lead may not be the most glamorous product, but it’s very convenient! It comes with a 3-meter lead to connect it to the mains, 5 sockets, a 20W dedicated USB-C slot for faster-charging speeds as well as two 5V USB-A slots and an additional 5V USB-C slot.

The extension lead is ideal for using in your living room and charging your devices. That is exactly where I use mine.

The extension lead also has comprehensive safety protection which features overload protection as well as anti-surge protection.
