If Apple Releases the AirPods Pro 3, Here’s What I Want to See
I’ve been using the AirPods Pro (2nd generation) for around a year, and I have to say—they sound fantastic. The features are impressive, and the Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and Transparency modes are top-tier.
That got me thinking; if Apple decided to release the AirPods Pro (3rd generation) today, what improvements would I like to see?
I mean, the current AirPods Pro are among the best wireless earbuds on the market, and while there’s always room for improvement and innovation, I’m not sure what else can be done to make them stand out.
That’s why I decided to brainstorm a few ideas and share them with a wider audience
So without any further ado, here are the things I’d like to see in the AirPods Pro 3…
Health Features
The AirPods Pro (2nd generation) already have impressive health features such as the ability to take a hearing test and Loud Sound Reduction. Both of these features are great examples of how Apple is making a difference in everyday life.
However, with the release of the Beats Powerbeats Pro 2, it would be nice to see heart-rate monitoring for workouts.
As someone who’s into running, I constantly see people using AirPods for running, that’s why I think introducing a heart-rate monitoring feature would be ideal.
It would also be nice if Apple could leverage motion sensors to detect poor posture, especially for people who sit at desks for long hours, and then notify users to adjust their posture or take breaks.
Temperature monitoring would also be a welcome addition to the AirPods Pro, it could be used to detect fevers or changes in body temperature.
Improved ANC
The ANC is already incredible on the AirPods Pro (2nd generation). As someone who travels by public transport on a weekly basis, they allow me to get away from the hustle and bustle around me.
I’ve used many wireless earbuds over the years, but in terms of ANC, the AirPods Pro (2nd generation) are definitely my favourites for travel and working in busy cafés.
With that being said, it would be nice to see the ANC further improved.
Fresh Look
Both generations of the AirPods Pro share a very similar design, so a fresh look would be a welcome change.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m a fan of the current design. I think it’s sleek, minimal, and fits incredibly well. But it would be exciting to see Apple introduce something new.
It could be a new and improved compact case, a refined earbud shape for better comfort, or even new colour options to break away from the signature white.
With that in mind, it would be interesting to see if Apple ever drops the stem design for any of the AirPods models in the future.
It would also be interesting to see if Apple ever introduces a small screen to the case to make them almost like an iPod.
Final Thoughts
Having owned both versions of the AirPods Pro, I definitely think that they are some of the best earbuds I ever had, and that’s what got me thinking.
I mean, there are only so many things that can be done to earbuds.
But I think that Apple is going in the right direction with bringing in health features such as Hearing Health, and it would certainly be nice to see them introducing features such as heart-rate monitoring.
Apart from what I’ve already mentioned, they could always find a way of improving the sound quality.
