My EDC – Summer 2022!

Everyday Carry

If you’re new to Tech With Dom, I’m quite a fan of watching Every Day Tech Carry (EDC for short) videos on YouTube and I’ve even made some of my own!

But I haven’t made one in a while, so I decided to start with a blog post for you lovely people!

I’m not entirely sure what it is about this type of content, but I always find it inspiring, particularly as a gadget geek. I mean, there are some pretty cool gadgets out there!

So without further ado, these are the items I carry with me on a daily basis…

My Phone: Google Pixel 6 Pro

I’ve been using the Pixel 6 Pro on a daily basis for a while now and the phone seems to just be getting better and better, especially with the Android 13 update that was recently released for selected Pixel devices.

The Pixel 6 Pro hasn’t had the best start as a flagship phone with people including myself facing various problems such as overheating, camera issues as well a handful of other issues.

However, Google is doing a great job in keeping the phone updated and I’m pleased to say that most of the issues that I’ve been experiencing have now been sorted with the Android 13 update.

I plan to continue using the Pixel 6 Pro for the foreseeable future as well as making content about it!

I use my Pixel 6 Pro with Google’s dedicated case as it just feels nicer in my hand.

My Watch: Mobvoi TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra GPS

Moving on to my watch, I’ve been using the Mobvoi TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra GPS which is actually a very good smartwatch. It’s packed with various sensors such as a barometer as well as other useful features.

One of my favourite features of this watch is the dual display, which I think is brilliant and more manufacturers should be investing in this type of technology.

Not only does the dual display save battery life, it’s also to see in bright conditions.

My Earbuds: Google Pixel Buds A-Series

I test many great earbuds, but for some reason, I keep going back to the Pixel Buds A-Series, which is rather strange! Not only because they aren’t the best at that price range but also because they lack features.

It really is a shame that I can’t wirelessly charge them and that they don’t have active noise cancellation which the competition does at a similar price. Two great alternatives are the Nothing Ear (1)’s which can charge wirelessly and have active noise cancellation and the Beats Studio buds which have active noise cancellation.

I think it’s all to do with the overall comfort and the fact that they work really well with my Pixel 6 Pro.

Key Holder: KeySmart Max

The KeySmart Max is a device I haven’t talked about much but is really worth the purchase!

Not only is it a key holder, but it also has a torch and a Tile tracker built-in, so if like me you always misplace your keys or your phone, you can also track your keys and your phone with it!

KeySmart also offers a handful of accessories to add to it such as a box opener and a bottle opener which prove to be very useful!

My Wallet: Ekster: Parliament

For my wallet, I continue to use the Ekster Parliament slim wallet which so far has served me well! I’ve got to admit, it took me a while to finally convince myself to purchase one of these, but it was well worth it!

The quality is very good, more importantly, it has RFID protection and it gets rid of that bulge you get with traditional wallets.

Initially, I used the Ekster Chipolo Solar tracker with it, but I moved on to the Tile Slim to stick to one ecosystem so that I don’t need to have 2 separate apps installed. However, I do think that the Ekster Chipolo tracker is the better buy as it can be recharged with the built-in solar panel.

Summary

That’s it for my current EDC, as always, I’m constantly on the lookout for new gadgets and tech so I keep an updated EDC page on my Kit.co profile. You can find the link to my EDC here.
