Are The Beats Fit Pro Worth it in 2024?
If you’re into fitness and are looking for a new set of earbuds to take to the gym with you or to take out running, you’re in the right place. In this article, I will be reviewing the Beats Fit Pro, a set of earbuds that are dedicated to sports.
The Beats Fit Pro were released back in November 2021, which makes the model almost three years old. But are they still worth it in 2024/2025? Read on to find out my thoughts.
I got back into fitness not long ago, and I wanted a set of earbuds that sounded great and didn’t fall out of my ears, that’s when I came across the Beats Fit Pro. Initially, I had mixed feelings about them due to their price.
The Beats Fit Pro can usually be found for around £200 online, but at the time of writing this article, there are some epic deals available for Black Friday.
But without any further ado, here is my review…
✅ What I like
- Compatible with Android and iOS
- Great sound quality
- Decent bass
- Wingtips for a secure fit
- Sweat and water-resistant
- Decent Transparency mode and ANC
❌ What I don’t like
- Large case
- Price
- No wireless charging
First Impressions
The Beats Fit Pro come in a pretty standard box, but I think it’s fair to say that opening the box for the first time was enjoyable.
Inside the box you are greeted with the case with the earbuds inside and underneath the case you’ll find a USB-C to USB-C cable as well as additional ear tips that come in two other sizes. You also get documentation as well as a Beats sticker, which is a nice touch.
The setup was quick and easy, I was able to pair them quickly to my iPhone 14 Pro Max without any issues.
My first impressions were that they felt pretty comfortable to wear and that they sounded great. However, I do think they sound slightly different to the AirPods Pro 2nd generation. You can definitely hear that extra bass, which, I think, is great, especially for workouts.
What are they like to use?
I’ve been using the Beats Fit Pro for just under a week and so far, I think that they are pretty good. I purchased them with the aim of primarily using them for sports activities such as running, workouts and for use at the gym. Based on the experience I’ve had with them so far, I believe that they are game changers.
My first experience with them was going out for a run. I was easily able to pair them to my Apple Watch Series 9 and enable transparency mode so that I can hear the surrounding traffic.
I think that the transparency mode is pretty decent as I was capable of hearing traffic pretty well, which was a good thing as my first run with them was in the dark. The transparency mode can be easily enabled by holding the button on one of the earbuds until you hear a sound.
The Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) is pretty good based on the experience I’ve had trying it out at home and when working out, but I haven’t yet had a chance to try them out at the gym. But judging by the fact that the ANC is pretty good, I think that they’ll work well.
Talking about running, I wouldn’t recommend using ANC when running in the streets.
During the run, the Beats Fit Pro stayed in my ears without falling out, and I didn’t feel them slide out of my ears either. That’s thanks to the wingtip, which, for me, is easy to place correctly. I’ve struggled with other earbuds in the past, where achieving a secure fit wasn’t always as easy.
I want to discuss the button on these earbuds, which actually feels pretty good. I never really got on with physical buttons on earbuds as they usually felt uncomfortable and difficult to press on some of the earbuds I’ve tested over the years. Beats have perfected this extremely well and I prefer this solution to the one on the AirPods Pro.
Sound Quality
When it comes to sound quality, we all have our own preferences, and what may sound good to some may not sound good to others. I like there to be a decent amount of bass, but at the same time I want to clearly hear all the instruments.
I think that the Beats Fit Pro sounds great, you can really hear all the instruments clearly and the bass is powerful, but not too overpowering.
If you are a fan of good bass, these are definitely worth considering, you can certainly hear that thump.
Things I’m not so sure about
I wanted to start this section talking about the case, which is slightly bigger than the AirPods Pro 2nd generation. I’m not sure if I’m a fan of this type of design, as with these types of cases I always fear that an earbud will fall out. However, it’s nice to see that they sit pretty firm inside.
Speaking about the case, I don’t like the fact that it doesn’t have wireless charging. I know that it’s only a small thing, but when you spend this sort of money on earbuds, you would expect that they have wireless charging.
I know that this won’t bother many people, but I like the idea of wireless charging, especially when working at my desk. I use the Benks 3-in-1 charging station a lot and would have liked to charge these with it.
Last on this list, I wanted to discuss the wingtips, which are perfect for sports, but I’ve been using them to listen to music while writing this review, and I am starting to feel that wingtip.
But with all this in mind, I still think that these are decent, especially for sports.
Final Thoughts
Based on the short time I’ve been using these, I’m definitely sold. The wingtip design makes them perfect for running and working out, and the decent bass makes them ideal for workouts.
However, I’m not sure if I could use these as my daily drivers as the AirPods Pro are considerably more comfortable to wear for extended periods of time.
I know it’s still early days, but so far, I am very satisfied with these. Even though the model is almost three years old, I still think that they are great for 2024/2025.
There are some fantastic Black Friday deals on at the time of writing this review, so it’s definitely worth checking them out. If you are interested in checking these out, I am leaving my Amazon affiliate link, which will help support my blog through earning a small commission.
I will be writing an updated review in a few months after I had more time with these, so stay tuned!
