KeySmart Max: Review
Is This The Smartest Key Organiser?
As you can probably tell, I’m a massive fan of tech and gadgets and when I saw YouTuber Justin Tse feature it in his everyday carry video, I just had to get it!
The KeySmart Max is a pretty awesome key organiser that comes packed with some useful features, which we’ll go into further detail later in this article.
Space-saving Design
The overall design of the KeySmart Max is pretty decent, it’s built well and feels sturdy.
The main thing I love about using products such as this, is the fact that you can actually save space in your pocket, not to mention that it stops that annoying rattle you get from standard key chains.
Locate your keys and phone with Tile!
One of the most attractive features of the KeySmart Max is the built-in Tile tracker, which thanks to the Tile app will not only help you find your keys if you misplaced them, but it will also help you find your phone.
If, like me, you misplace your keys often, this tool is perfect for you! Simply go into the Tile app on your phone and thanks to Bluetooth, your phone will call your keys, which will help you track them down.
On the other hand, if you miss place your phone, simply double-click the button on the device, doing this will call your phone.
Whilst in my opinion, this feature isn’t as good as the Apple AirTag, Tile is one of the best Android compatible trackers.
Rechargeable Battery
One of the main advantages of the KeySmart Max is the fact that it has a rechargeable battery, which is something that even the AirTag doesn’t have!
Whist the fact that it’s rechargeable sounds great, I have two issues in this department. The first being the fact that there is no way to tell when the battery is low or has died. My second problem is the fact that it has a Micro-USB port for charging, which in this day and age is a real shame!
For those of you who don’t know, I’m a huge fan of USB-C, I find that having one type of cable just makes life so much easier, particularly when on the move.
In terms of battery life, the KeySmart website states that it can last up to 60 days. Unfortunately, I can’t confirm how it performs in everyday life, as I never know when the battery runs out.
Torch
The KeySmart Max also has a handy torch which is surprisingly bright.
It can be activated by either holding the other button for however long you need it or if you double-click, the light will remain on for a few seconds longer.
I think that it’s really cool that they’ve included a torch because, you never know when you might need one. I know that you can use your phone as a torch, but that often includes unlocking it and finding the option within the quick access menu. With the KeySmart Max, you just press a button, which is so much more convenient.
Free Multi-Tool
The KeySmart Max also comes with a Multi-Tool attachment, which can be used either as a bottle opener or a flathead screwdriver. Both of which are very useful tools to have on you.
KeySmart Tools and Accessories
One of the things I like about the KeySmart Max is the availability of other useful tools and gadgets that you can get for it.
At the time of writing this article, I currently have the multi tool that came with the device as well as a box opener, which I find extremely useful.
But there are so many other accessories available. Such as several connections so that you can attach your car keys, USB drives, scissors, a pen, and even mini pliers.
I think that the availability of accessories really does make this device extra special, especially since you can carry so much in such a compact space.
The Verdict
I believe that the KeySmart Max is an excellent product, whilst I do have a few issues with it, such as there not being a way to tell when the battery is low. However, I find that regularly checking it does help to determine. Hopefully, KeySmart will address this issue in future releases of the product.
Overall, I find the KeySmart Max to be a great asset to my everyday carry, particularity as it stops my keys from rattling in my pocket and scratching my wallet or phone. I really like the fact that the Tile is built-in, as it eliminates the need of having a bulky keychain as your tracker.
