I’ve been using the iPhone 14 Pro Max as my main phone for a long time, and I recently decided that it was the right time to try something different, so I decided to get the Samsung Galaxy S25. To go with my purchase, I decided to get the Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro.

I heard a lot of good things about the Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro, but I wasn’t prepared for what I was about to uncover when I picked them up for the first time and in this review I will be sharing my first impressions and views and opinions after using them as my daily drivers for around a week.

Before moving to the Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro, my primary earbuds were the AirPods Pro 2nd generation. Now, I’m a big fan of the AirPods Pro 2nd generation, I think they sound great and have some fantastic features. So, naturally the Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro have big shoes to fill.

But without any further ado, here’s what I think after daily driving the Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro for a week…

Unboxing and first impressions

The Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro come in a very modern looking box, which reflects the design of the earbuds. The design on the box is clean and modern adding to the aesthetic of the earbuds and the unboxing experience.

I’ve seen the earbuds on photos and videos, and I initially wasn’t sure about the design. But I was wrong because the Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro look stunning. I’m a big fan of the design of the case with the clear top and the futuristic design of the earbuds. But I’ll talk more about the design below.

The box contains the earbuds, a USB-C to USB-C cable as well as documentation and ear tips, which is pretty standard.

The Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro were the first Samsung Product I had delivered, so the first time I tried them was with my iPhone 14 Pro Max. But I remember being surprised at how good the sound quality was. I’m a big fan of bass and clear audio and these deliver really well. On top of that they’re loud and feel comfortable to wear.

Design and comfort

The Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro are available in either White or Silver. I went with the Silver as I think it looks modern, cool, and futuristic. I even got the S25 in a in Silver to match the aesthetic.

Before we get to the earbuds, I wanted to talk about the case. I like the style of the case and that Samsung decided to make the lid transparent. I don’t know what it is about the look of transparent tech, but it makes the device look cool and modern, I’m a big fan.

The earbuds themselves also look modern and futuristic and most importantly of all, they feel light and comfortable to wear, even for extended periods of time. One thing that I have noticed is that the ear tips have a strong rubber smell, but I think that it’s just because they are new.

Sound Quality

When it comes to sound quality, we all have different tastes. Personally, I like to be able to hear and feel the bass, but at the same time, I like to be able to clearly hear all the other instruments. The Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro match those requirements really well.

Best of all, with the built-in equaliser, I can adjust the sound to how I like it.

In terms of vocals, I think that these earbuds cope really well, they sound clear and are easy to understand, which is expected at this price range.

In terms of Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), I think that they offer phenomenal ANC. I like to test the ANC in several scenarios including, working in an open plan office, in a café, on public transport and at my local train station.

The train station test is pretty intense as I test them when I’m on a platform of a departing diesel train which can be very loud.

The Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro coped in those tests incredibly well, even with the train station test, I could still hear the music clearly. In terms of announcements on the train, the ANC is so good that there were cases where I didn’t hear the announcements at all.

The ambient mode is also very good. I am comfortably able to order a coffee without having to take the earbuds out, which is important!

Features, functionality and battery life

Having only used these earbuds for a week, I haven’t really had a chance to properly test the battery life. I mean they lasted my 1-and-a-half-hour commute into the office without any issues, and I was comfortably able to use the earbuds while at my desk for extended periods of time.

Samsung claim that with the ANC on you can get around 6 hours of music time (26 with case), and 7 hours with the ANC off (30 with case).

The earbuds can be charged using the included USB-C Cable or wirelessly.

In terms of touch control, you can swipe up or down to adjust the volume. You can pinch to play and pause, or pinch and hold, which I’ve set to switch noise controls. When you get a call, you can pinch to answer or pinch and hold to decline.

A feature that sets these apart from the crowd is the Alarm/Siren detection feature. The Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro allow you to listen to music with ANC enabled, but when they hear an alarm or siren, they allow you to hear it. This is a game-changing feature!

Although I’ve not had a chance to try this yet in a real-life scenario, I like the idea of the interpreter and listening mode features as it allows people who don’t speak the same language to communicate.

How I tested them

Although it’s only been a week, I’ve had the opportunity to try them in several scenarios.

Firstly, since they were the first device I received from my order, I tested them on my iPhone 14 Pro Max, and I thought that they sounded pretty good. However, I couldn’t find the Galaxy Wearable app in the App Store to change the settings on them. When my Samsung Galaxy S25 finally got delivered, I was able to change the settings to match my style and needs.

With the S25, I tested them in a number of scenarios, starting with a café. With the Ambient mode enabled, I was easily able to order a coffee without taking the earbuds out. Then when I finally got my coffee and sat down at the table, I enabled ANC mode, and it blocked out the noise from a noisy café really well.

I later went to the platform where a diesel train was about to set off. For those of you who are unaware, diesel trains can be extremely loud when they start up. I like to use it as a test to see how good the ANC is. It’s safe to say that the Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro coped really well.

When on the train, the train announcements were blocked, I remember being surprised that an announcement was being made when I took an earbud out.

I also tested the earbuds while out on walks, but unfortunately there weren’t any sirens during those walks.

In terms of other devices, I also tested these with my MacBook Air and they just worked.

Final Thoughts

To summarise this review, it’s only been a week since I started daily driving the Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro, and already I am impressed by the sound quality, the features and ease of use. Samsung have done a fantastic job with these.

But it’s still early days and I will be writing a more detailed review once I had more time with them.

I’d love to hear from other Buds3 Pro owners! What has your experience been like? Let me know in the comments below.
